Our Story
Caution To The Wind® was founded in 2015 by sisters Claire and Alice Henderson in Los Angeles, California. Having grown up with a mother who taught them to embrace their uniqueness and step outside their comfort zone, Claire and Alice were inspired to create a clothing line that would empower other women to do the same.
After graduating from design school, the sisters began hand-making a small collection of vibrant, stand-out dresses and jumpsuits using bold prints, colors, silhouettes, and details. They took their creations to local boutiques and pop-up shops, garnering attention for their joyful, fearless take on women’s fashion.
Encouraged by the enthusiastic response, Claire and Alice officially launched Caution To The Wind®, quickly building a reputation for their signature bright, audacious styles and top-notch craftsmanship. They opened their first brick-and-mortar store in LA in 2016, and soon expanded their reach through online sales, allowing them to connect with free-spirited women worldwide.

We design and produce our collections in small batches in the U.S. and Europe to maintain quality control and ethical, sustainable practices. The majority of our fabrics are natural, biodegradable fibers such as cotton, rayon, and linen. By producing locally whenever possible, we can ensure fair wages and safe conditions for the talented artisans and craftspeople who bring our designs to life. We are committed to running an eco-conscious business and minimizing our environmental impact.

Based in LA, Claire and Alice are actively involved in every aspect of the business, ensuring each new collection captures the Caution To The Wind® essence.
Eva Schwartz, Production Manager
With her keen eye for detail and knack for problem-solving, Eva expertly manages our production process, turning Claire and Alice’s designs into wearable pieces. She oversees our ethical manufacturing partners and ensures our garments are produced responsibly.
